Young man fell sick after he was deliberately infected with HIV by his homosexual partner. However, the accused says he is not guilty, the Brisbane court reports.

Jamie Michel Richards, a 34 year old man, had sexual relationships with a 20 year old man and didn't tell anything about his HIV status. Richards faces the charge of transmitting the deadly virus intentionally but denies all the accusations.

Mr. Sal Vasta, the prosecutor, told that both men had casual sexual relationships for several months. Since they met at Brisbane train station they were attracted towards each other and younger man lost his virginity to Mr. Richards.

It was told that several times they had sexual acts without condom. When they got to safe sex issue, Richards told his partner that there should be no worries about barrier protection as he was sure of his sexual health and he never had any STDs.

However, there were suspicious signs that victim of the case noticed. In spite of the fact that Richards never mentioned he was HIV positive, young man saw him taking pills quite frequently. The last word on his HIV status was told by Richards' brother on a visit. The latter revealed that his brother needed special care due to his disease.

Tests proved that Mr. Richards was HIV positive and was informed about his status since 1995. He was also asked on another case in 2003, when he told police about having AIDS and hepatitis C.

The hearing continues.

That's heavy!! This is why we all need to take such care these days. No point playing Russian Roulette with one's life... Aids does not discriminate.
