A condom that above all can help men to have a stronger, firmer and more long-lasting erection is expected to be released by the year 2008.
The product called CSD500 condom safety device was created by researchers at British condom maker Futura Medical.
A chemical within a teat of the condom increases the blood flow to the penis that results in rigidity of the penis and longer duration of the erection.
During a test period as much as 108 healthy couples reported of the firmer erection and longer intercourse in men when wearing CSD500 condom, giving a hope for success. The new condom already aroused strong interest all around the world. Study showed that more than 80 percent of condom users are ready to try it and just about the half of those who do not use condoms exhibit an interest in trying the product in order to increase their erection.
CSD500 condom is also expected to attract more men to use this contraceptive that is meant not only as a protection against unwanted pregnancies and STDs but also as a sex helper. Two percent of all condoms are known to slip off during the sexual act mainly because men have difficulty maintaining erection or keep up aroused.
If the CSD500 condom will be approved by EU regulatory authorities, the product will be available in the market within 18 months and could be sold like regular condoms.
Futura medical makers signed an agreement with SSL International plc known as makers of world-known Durex ® condoms and to prepare for the marketing launch all around the Europe.
Chief executive James Barder said that around 13 billion condoms are used annually and there is a lot of place to broaden the market.
