Viagra - it cuts both ends

The latest studies show that drugs used for erectile dysfunction treatment work for good relationships but add difficulties to bad ones.

For many years, such drugs as Viagra, Levitra and Cialis were known to be immediate handy solution to sexual problems. However, the newest research conducted in Harvard Medical School revealed that these drugs are unlikely to produce its strong effect if emotional problems within a relationship are involved.

The pills, like Viagra are effective when man didn't lose sexual attraction towards his partner. In case, when emotional issues are on the highlight, these drugs become useless.

Nowadays, one out of five American men are affected by erectile dysfunction. While this remains one of the most delicate issues, many men choose to deal with the problem buying pills, when in fact, counseling can be a better solution.

Most men who face the problem of erectile dysfunction are likely to avoid any sexual activity with their partner and the latter may come to a conclusion that she is no longer sexually attractive. When partner's erection return, female partners see it as a good effect of the drug and do not link it to psychological issues. In this situation it creates a vicious circle and if the partner will no longer be supportive, the erection problems may re-emerge. The best policy in this case is sex therapy.

The basic conclusion of the study is that partners should not see such drugs as way-out especially if relationships matters are involved. When it comes to emotional difficulties, medications used for erectile dysfunction treatment do not work in the long run.
